I live in Idaho with a great hubby and two sons. I love the fiber arts and papercrafts. I have started running and recently completed a FULL MARATHON. If you want a glimpse in to my life, this is the place for you. Hope you enjoy your time.
I have TWO items to share with you today. It seemed fitting as the stamps at Sweet Pea Stamps are currently on sale BUY ONE GET ONE FREE!! Can you believe it? It is a shopper's DREAM!
First is a card created with the new Halloween plate. This little "vampire" just cracks me up, he is so cute! I had to ink him up right away. The blue word paper, he is matted on, was done using the sentiment in the same set. I just stamped it randomly on the paper before gluing on the cut out images.
The second item is an ATC I created using the Bodacious Mermaid. After coloring her in gray tones, I trimmed around the image and glued it to the prepared ATC. I then put some stickles on the background and smeared (yes, that is the technical term) it around with my finger.
I hope you enjoy these creations and are excited to create something of your own! Remember, if you use the Sweet Pea Stamps to do so, send a photo to Jennifer so we can share it with others on Mondays!
WELCOME! This is my first opportunity as a new member of the Whimsical Ink Sorority to participate in the monthly new release BLOG Hop! If you have arrived here from Nina's blog then you are on the right track. If you came here on your own you are really going to want to start at the beginning at Queen Kat Designs Blog so you don't miss any of these fabulous new stamps!
Before I show you the new stamp I am showing off, I want to introduce myself as a new member of the WIS for those who don't know me. I am happily married for 14 years, mom of two boys and work in the financial industry. I love, love, love everything mermaid and fairy so this is a PERFECT fit for me. It wasn't until the last few years that I loosened up enough to release my artistic side and I have never had more fun!
So, my highlight for the new release hop is.......Elizabeth's Crow!
I knew exactly what I was going to do the minute I saw this stamp! This specific type of gatefold card is called a Triptych Card. Here are what the front and full inside view look like.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit! You next stop is Meredith's blog. Below is the entire list if you get lost along the way. Have a FABULOUS rest of your day!!!
If you have any interest at all in mermaids, this really is the way to win a stamp. The challenges run for a week and have not had many entries, so pretty much if you enter, you canl win. It also posts which stamp is the prize each week so you can see if it is one you want. Right now it is Holly the Christmas mermaid. The card I made with her is here:
and a new one will post on Satureday. Also, tomorrow is release day and there is a contest for some really cool stuff to be given away during the blog hop. I would just LOVE some of my friends to win this stuff!!!
Once upon a time, in the land of Two Tumbles, lived a King, his beautiful Queen and two lovely daughters.
Each year, for a short time, the magical Green Fairies would appear throughout the land. The fairies in training, who were dressed in brown until they were old enough to don the magical green, would accompany them. The fairies would bring the most delicious delicacies with them and sell them to the people of the land. Then the people would anxiously await the arrival of the fairies the next year.
The Queen of Two Tumbles was with child and desperately desired one of the Green Fairies’ delicacies named Samoa. The time for the fairies to appear was past and their next visit was not for many months. The King, loving his Queen very much and wanting to please her placed a call throughout the land for anyone who might be able to provide the Queen with the requested delicacy.
There was an Evil Empire in the land that sought to destroy all that was good and honest. This included the Green Fairies. The Evil Empire attempted to do so but creating imitations of some of the Green Fairies’ delicacies that would be available through out the year. The King loved his Queen so dearly he considered visiting the Evil Empire. However, he learned that there were no imitations of the Somoa delicacy sought by the Queen and was saved from entering the darkness.
The King had a sister who had married and become the Duchess of Boy-Z.She heard of his call and put out a call of her own.A friend of the Duchess of Boy-Z, the Lady Red Boots, heard the call. The Lady Red Boots was a defender of justice and prosecutor of evil so knew that she must do what is right. She contacted the Duchess of Boy-Z to tell her she had saved some of the delicacies from the last visit of the Green Fairies including the Samoas requested by the Queen. The Lady Red Boots offered up the Samoas. The only problem was the delicacies were found in Boy-Z not Two Tumbles and needed to be transported to the Queen.
Now, at this time, the Lady Red Boots was accompanied in her fight against wrong by the Lady Valentine. An evil witch named Economy had cursed the Lady Valentine.Economy declared that the Lady Valentine would be separated from her true love, Lord Valentine, and only allowed to see him on the weekends.Having no choice, the Lord and Lady Valentine accepted the curse until they are able to find a way to break it.The Lord Valentine resided in the land of Two Tumbles and so the Lady Valentine traveled every weekend from the land of Boy-Z to the land of Two Tumbles.
Lady Red Boots remembered the curse placed upon Lady Valentine and requested her assistance in transporting the Green Fairies’ Somoa delicacy to the pregnant Queen.Being of pure heart and good nature, the Lady Valentine readily agreed to do so.She took the Somoas from the Lady Red Boots and placed them in her carriage for the trip to Two Tumbles.Upon arrival in Two Tumbles, she went immediately to the King and delivered the much sought after Somoas.
The Queen was ecstatic and this pleased the King greatly. He issued a proclamation that the Ladies Red Boots and Valentine from the land of Boy-Z were most brave and true and forever welcome in Two Tumbles.
When I first got my hands on Plate #9 I was thinking birthday. However, I started stamping images and pulling papers and it didn't take long for my mind to go other directions.
I have a lot of people I need to send this particular card to. Guess I should make some more!
Ingredients: stamp- Sweat Pea Stamps paper- Bazzill, Scrapworks ink- Momento brads- Queen & Co. other- Prismacolor markers, Zig marker
This card is created with another one of the stamps exclusive to SCACD designed by Elisabeth Bell. The paper is by Dovecraft and also available at Susana's. Fairies and butterflies all in one stamp, how could it be anything but wonderful?
This stamp is one of the exclusive lines at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design and is by Elisabeth Bell. Funny story, I think this little girl looks very much like my niece Janika. The only reason I don't call her that when I am coloring her is because Emma was my Grandmother's name so pretty easy for me to remember.
In the stamped image Emma's basket actually contains a kitten. I wanted her carrying flowers, however, and so- Flower Soft to the rescue! I also love the Dazzlers that Susana carries. You absolutely must try them. If you like bling at all, you will be hooked!
If you have arrived here on your own, I am THRILLED to have you, but you are missing out on some amazing creations. Be certain to start at the QDK blog to catch them all. If you have arrived here from Helene's blog, then you are at the next stop in the hop. This week we were challenged to create something inspired by this picture:
I thought that not only was the photo very bright, cheerful and summery, but the colors certainly make me think mermaid! I decided to use Pearl.
Now, continue on to the Nina's blog for the next stop. Don't forget when you finish to swing by the store and pick up the FABULOUS things you have seen! Then share with all of us what YOU create!
Tuesdays on the store blog for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design (SCACD) the Design Team does a Try It Out Tuesday (TIOT). This week, as the spotlighter, I got to play along!!!
The project was to alter/create a notebook. The minute I heard it, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I created a coloring notebook for my niece with the wonderful exclusive images I have from Susana's store.
I cut chipboard covers and covered and decorated them with Basic Grey and one of the images. Then I bound it all together. I hope you enjoy it. I had a wonderful time creating it, and I think my niece with love it!
I have been asked to Spotlight Design this week for one of my very, very, VERY favorite places to shop Susana's Custom Art & Card Design. She has several EXCLUSIVE to her store stamp lines. One of them includes this stamp of Young Alexa designed by Elisabeth Bell. She just melts my heartstrings. Is there anything better than a child with a book? I can't think of much.
I am really looking forward to sharing several of the stamps and other items this week that available at Susana's store. You will never find customer service as fantastic as she provides anywhere. Susana is AMAZING. I swear that woman packs orders in her sleep just to be sure they are timely! Be sure and show her some love!
Join me again tomorrow as I participate in the Design Team's -Try It Out Tuesday. I am super excited about the project I have in store for you! See what the Design Team has done at the store blog.
The card I created uses the Lady & Fox Mermaid stamp released this month at Queen Kat Designs. I really enjoyed the background portion of the image. I will admit taking a peek at how Maigan Lynn colored the image in her artwork just to be certain I knew what the lines represented. Now that I have actually colored it once though, I have no doubt that I can go crazy next time! I am also feeling the need to expand my mermaid collection to include the others that have background as options such as Lani with background and Lorali with background just to name two.
I also used the Tinkering Ink paper from the 6x6 paper pack with ribbons from Queen Kat Designs. This is a fabulous pack to play with!!
I have enjoyed making a few ATCs lately. This one is done with two of the stamp sets from Elemental doodles. It is Forest Fairies and the butterfly is from Mystic Fairy. Once I got the border figured out it all fell into place.
Welcome to my first week as part of the Queen Kat Designs blog hop!!! I am SUPER excited and hope you enjoying hopping with me :).
If you have arrived here on your own, I am THRILLED to have you, but you are missing out on some amazing creations. Be certain to start at the QDK blog to catch them all. If you have arrived here from Helene's blog, then you are at the next stop in the hop.
This week our challenge was to use the colors pink and teal. FABULOUS!! As one that grew up in the 80's this set of colors is near and dear. I grabbed Lani and knew that she would be just perfect for this color combination.
I just could not resist the pearl belly bling. I hope Maigan Lynn will forgive me, LOL!!
Now- continue back to the Queen Kat Designs blog to finish the hop. Or better yet, hop on over to the store and get all the fabulous things you have seen during this hop and anything else your heart desires! Every order over $25 gets a free goodie bag-while supplies last.
I have had the honor of assembling this comfort afghan for a dear friend. I am saddened that it is needing to be sent, but at least I can do this. I hope she can feel how much she is loved.
Sweet Pea Stamps is currently giving away some fabulous Blog Candy. The details can be found here. Don't forget, there is also a wonderful sale going on right now. These images have been so much fun for me to play with that I hope you just grab them up! I know you will love them!!!
I saw the Monday Mojo sketch this week and my brain went a bit crazy designing with one of my stamps from Elemental Doodles. It just lent itself to the sketch so well. This stamp is in the Mystic Fairy set. I really like the design and versatility of it. I think you will be seeing more of this one :)
What is WIS you might ask. Well, it is just about the BEST THING that has ever happened to me!!! I have been selected to be a member of the Whimsical Ink Sorority!!!!! Now, if you have looked at my blog at all- you will have noticed that I have a passion for mermaids and fairies. THIS is all about that!!!! Queen Kat Designs carries some of the most amazing mermaid stamps I have ever seen. Right now she has a FABULOUS sale going on so RUN and get some! She has a lot of wonderful stamps, but the moment I saw the mermaids, there was NO turning away. Now I am required to play with them, oh be still my heart!!! LOL! So, please look for me on Fridays on the Whimsical Ink Sorority BLOG. Even better, visit daily to see all the amazing talent there and participate in Verona's challenge for a chance to win -perhaps even a mermaid of your very own!
I created this card for a challenge on SCACD's group on Paper Craft Planet. The challenge involved both a sketch and a color challenge. I really had to push myself on this one, but once it started to fall into place it almost created itself. The stamp is one of the Anki's Sweethearts exclusive to Susana's store.
I missed getting my item for challenge #10 completed so I combined it with this week's challenge of a sketch. My entry uses Victoria Case's digi image Dragon Cake. Victoria is retiring a LOT of her digi images very soon. Be sure to get yours while you can!!!!
This week on the Flutter By Wednesday the challenge is to not use ANY patterned paper. This is what I have created and it is using stamps from Sweet Pea Stamps. Loving this set! Don't forget they have a big sale running through Sunday!
WOW! Challenge # 18 already. It seems like these just started! They are so much fun to do. This weeks challenge is distressing. I had fun not only getting a distressed look, but playing with Flower Soft as well on this image from the Digistamp Boutique.
WOW! She is giving away an entire set of the Gorjuss Girls set #3 from Sugar Nellie! I love all the creations I have seen made with these stamps! Check it out for yourself at Leanne's Blog!
I posted here a few days ago about a new company coming that not only has some fabulous looking sneaks, but also was offering some amazing blog candy. Now she is offering not only ANOTHER blog candy, but she has put out a call for the Design Team!! If you have any interest whatsoever, I say "GO FOR IT". Here is the front page BLOG link.
I received an email today telling me that I have been selected to be part of the Design Team for Sweet Pea Stamps!!! I am soooooooooooooooo excited!!! You really should check out their stamps. There are some new ones being released very shortly that are on a pre-sale until August 2 and several others on a 50% off sale!!!.
A comfortafghan is being sent to the parents of Marine Lance Cpl. Daniel R. Bennett in his honor. I can only imagine the pain of losing a child and I certainly hope it brings them some small measure of comfort.
This is being mailed to a Mother and Father that recently lost a daughter. I can not imagine the pain they must be feeling, but I really hope this brings even a small amount of comfort.
For the Victoria Case Stamps Challenge this week it is a color challenge of hot pink, orange, and white. This was a LOT of fun. There were speed challenges being hosted on the PCP Victoria Case group. One of them was circles. This polka dot paper inspired this card that works for both challenges! The image is one of the Victoria Case exclusive for SCACD.
Looking to hit the beach and keeping cool :). This is an image from Pink Petticoat. This card design is for the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday #95 as well as Digital Tuesday #15. Digital Tuesday challenge is a 1,2,3- 1 image, 2 patterned papers and 3 embellishments. I chose to interpret the 3 embellishments as 3 different kinds of embellishments :). Hope you enjoy this card. I love the bright colors for summer!
There is a NEW stamp company coming called La-La Land Crafts. Fun name isn't it? Anyway, there is a sneak peek of one of the stamps and the opportunity to win not only the stamp, but also some other candy on the company blog here.
I and the cat are the only females in a house full of boys. Now, full here means 2 sons, a hubby and their assorted friends. That said, I am going to share some observations about living in a house where the boys out number the girls.
1-bodily functions are things to be discussed at length-especially if it gives you bragging rights
2-we have a family orthopedist
3-teenage boys smell, not a little, but a LOT! Candles and warmers just don't cut it, but sometimes you do what you have to do
4-appropriate dinner time conversation is subject to a much broader range of topics than I would really like it to be
5-humoring Mom and ooing and aahing over things pink, lacy or pretty is something required, not optional, even if you have no idea what the item is
6-calling a person names and insulting or teasing them mercilessly is actually a good thing because it means you like them
The challenge this week for Victoria Case is a sketch. I am very pleased with the end result and hope you like it too. I think my favorite is the glitter eyelids, LOL! This image is a digi from Victoria Case titled Water Fairy. Not only is it a lovely image, but it is the image that first led me to find Victoria Case. I saw a card made with it at SCS and immediately Googled Victoria Case. I was instantly in love :).
This week the DU2DS challenge is a color challenge of pink, white and black. I had SO much fun with the BW coloring the other day I decided to do it again :). This image is Tara by Chris of Sketching Stamper and one of my favs. She also just had some new Butterfly Fairies she released you should check out :)
I received this fabulous Lani and just had to do something with her. What better thing than to enter the sketch challenge at Whimsical Ink Sorority that was part of the new release Blog Hop?
The challenge this week is to use red, black and kraft. This is my entry and my first attempt at black and white coloring. Many, many thanks to Katie Cotton and her tutorials. I had a BLAST and can see myself coloring in black and white again and again.
This image is part of the July release at Paper Makeup Stamps and I am honored to be able to preview it for you! It is named after my son and not only did Katie make me cry, my son has been telling EVERYONE about fairy Brandt! Isn't he just fabulous?!??! This is also my entry for Flutter By Wednesday #64.
This is my entry for the Dare You 2 Digi Stamp challenge and Danni's Flutterby Wednesday. The image is from Spiral Whisper and as a mom of two boys I think it is pretty fabulous! Hope you enjoy my creation! This is my first time working with this image and I am going to certainly give it some more attention!
I created this for the Victoria Case Challenge and actually used one of her FREE images, Tara. I think she is just adorable and had a lot of fun with this card. I took a bit of liberty with the sketch, but like how it all came together.
I received this award from Stressed Stamper. Thank you so much! Now, I need to spend some time finding others to give it to as well :). Watch for the list to grow here :)
The HuggaBuggs from Bella Stamps are just fun. I think that Miles here is my FAVORITE. Maybe it is because I am the Mom of Boys or maybe it is just because he is so cute! Regardless, LOVE him.
Each month on PCPSusana's Custom Art & Card Design has a challenge. This month it is a sketch and here is my first entry. Come join us and share YOUR creation for the challenge!
I just love the Dare You To Digi Stamp Friday challenges. I am a bit bummed I will miss the next one, but may just do it anyway for fun :). This week the challenge is to use ribbon. Anyone who knows me, knows I had plenty of selection available to work with! LOL! This image is from Doodle Palace and I just love it. I have been wanting to use these colors with it since I got it.
As you may have noticed, I have some image designers that I really like and enjoy their style. Victoria Case is certainly one of them. Today she has a FREE digi on her BLOG that is completely AMAZING! Be certain you hop over and ask nicely for it. Check out all her other wonderful images as well. Her design team has some fantastic examples on her BLOG.
The challenge is to do a card in pink, white and black. This was FUN! I actually did 2 in this color scheme. The first is in this post and the second is here. Which is your favorite?
