Blank Canvas Torso ATC

I have love this die set from Dies by SCACD since it was first released.  It is called Blank Canvas Torso and Charm.  I cut the torso twice.  Once from black cardstock and a second time from red velvet paper by SEI.  I trimmed the red velvet and put them together as you see here.  The smaller torsos are the charm die that comes in this set.  The background is created using paper from the Theresa Collins Now and Then paper pack.  I used the Tim Holtz Honeycomb embossing folder and then rubbed with ink and the edges distressed.

Brown Hat Spring Fairy

I wanted to create an ATC with more of a Fall feel and color scheme that would go with the Wicked Wednesday ATC "who loves owls" challenge .  This image from Sweet Pea Stamps is the Brown Hat Spring Fairy by Elaine Cox.  It is one of the earlier releases and is part of a truly fabulous sheet and all four images have owls in them.  I trimmed the image quite a bit to fit the area I had created so you do get a bit more to work with for your creations.

The fun and funky background paper is from Bo Bunny  Apple Cider collection.  Those fun edges on the top and bottom are made using Viva Decor Crystal Gel in orange gold and a 1st Impressions mold Mini Lace Set.  I brushed some of the Tarnished Brass Metallic Distress Stain on the top of them and around the edge of the image.  To give the embellies even more depth, I then rubbed on a bit of the Craft - T Products Metallic Rub On in gunmetal.  I use this stuff all the time and it is lasting forever.  LOVE!

Little Morticia

I haven't made an ATC in some time and loved having the opportunity and inspiration to do so.  This cutie is Little Morticia from the Little Sassy Crew .  This entire stamp set is fabulous, you should check it out.

After coloring her up, I used paper from the new Authentique Enchanted set to create the background.  The feathers are from Petaloo and are cruelty free and come in lots of great colors!  Loving having feathers to play with :)  The other elements were in my bits and bobs Halloween box.  There you have it, Sugar & Spice and everything nice, with an extra dash of Spice!

Playing around

I spent some time truly playing with some fun new supplies the other day.  I got some of the Luminarte Silks and Mica powders and Dylusions Stamps from SCACD.  This is an ATC I made.  It is very, VERY basic, but was fun.  It was actually kind of an afterthought.  Sometimes those are the best thoughts :)

I stamped an image from the Doodle Parts set. I then used some of the Silks and Luminarte Mica Powders that I had already mixed with glaze. I would share what colors, but I really don't have any idea, except for the mushrooms, which are Scarab Beetle.  I can already tell that Scarab Beetle is going to be one of my 'go to' colors.  I stamped with Staz-On ink and it didn't smear at all.  I was pretty haphazard in my painting, which seems to work better for me and I am happy with the end result.  I hope you can see all the shimmer and sheen.  I tried to get a decent photo of it for you.  This was FUN and I see a lot more playing with these products in my immediate future.

King Edgar

Edgar is still a bit pouty after his adventures with Tinker, but he has asked me to tell you all that he appreciates your concern.  Currently, he and I are working on the 'tail issue'.  In the meantime, I am only allowed to take head shots, and he does not feel like talking today.

I hope that this creation will help DIVA King Edgar feel better and know he is loved.  It was great fun to create.

I just received some new supplies from Susana at SCACD.  The image is a stamp from the Dylusions Bird on a Wire set.  Ever since I first saw this set, I knew that one day it would be living at my house.  After stamping on white cardstock, I mixed up some of the new dragonfly Luminarte mica powder with glaze and painted around the image.  I know that color doesn't look like dragonfly, but I promise you, I am 98.9% positive it is.  I was doing a lot of playing, so I may have messed up, but I don't think so.  Don't worry, I will test it again later because, well, why not?  This stuff is SO fun, that I promise, you will want to play, and play, and play and....  WAIT, where was I?  Oh, yes, how to.  The crown is one of the Maya Road Mini chipboard pieces painted with black acrylic.  The images on the bottom are the bonus stamp from the Fairylicious Collection you get when you purchase the entire set.

I then used the edge of my scissors to distress the sides and tapped on some black ink with a sponge.  I mounted it on a black piece of cardstock to give it just a teeny tiny frame.

Fairy ATC

I have enjoyed making a few ATCs lately. This one is done with two of the stamp sets from Elemental doodles. It is Forest Fairies and the butterfly is from Mystic Fairy. Once I got the border figured out it all fell into place.

I have really been admiring ATCs and over the last year participated in a few trades and received some amazing artwork! This is certainly the way to go for me and creativity without pressure. As long as it is 2 1/2 in by 3 1/2 in I can't do it wrong!!! This the latest one I made for a "celestial" themed swap. My one before that can be seen at Scottish Borders Stamping.
