Adrift

This is another wonderful mermaid image drawn by Rebecca Sinz for Sweet Pea Stamps called Adrift.  I have been playing around with colors because to me mermaids, fairies, etc. can all be any color, have any color hair, etc.  That is part of what makes them so fabulous!

The background paper is from the Bazzill pack Miss Teagan Sue.  It was super wonderful to use bright colors and flowers with such dreary weather outside.

Little Draco

I am sooooooooo in love with this Mythical Reflections Collection.  Love it ALL!!!  This time I played with Little Draco.  Isn't he just the best dragon ever?

He is covered, and I mean COVERED in stickles so he sparkles just like any good dragon should.  The background paper is from the Teresa Collins Now and Then paper pad.  The die is from the Dies by SCACD and is the Classic Timepiece.  The hands in the corner are from the cut out portion of the die.

Don't forget to do one last shop in time for Christmas so that Santa (cleverly disguised as a postal worker) can deliver exactly what you want!

Sweet Pea Stamps- Thank You Lynette!

Each year the Sweet Pea Stamps design team loves to create a hop for Lynette, owner of Sweet Pea Stamps as our gift to her for Christmas. We are all in awe of the lovely stamps she offers and want to show our appreciation for her kindness and generosity.

Today I am going to share a creation made using the image Wind Swept by Rebecca Sinz.   This lovely image is on a sheet with 3 other amazing images or can be purchased individually in rubber or digital format.

After coloring the image I paired it with turquoise card stock and a pattern paper from the Teresa Collins Now and Then collection.

What would a blog hop be without some candy? So one lucky person will win these gorgeous rubber stamps. Just leave comments along the way - each time you do you will earn another chance at winning!

This year the hop stops are:

Thank you for stopping by and good luck!

Butterfly Kisses

This adorable image is called Butterfly Kisses and from the Elisabeth Bell exclusive to SCACD Sampler 8 collection.

I ended up pairing her with papers from two different collections.  They both worked so well with the image and together.   Also, since the paper police have never been to my house, I couldn't think of a reason not to.  The floral background is from the American Crafts - Soho Garden.  The real with the script print is from the Teresa Collins - Tell Your Story.  Those gorgeous corners are from the Dies by SCACD - Garden Corners and only one of the two fabulous die designs you get.

Since I awoke to snow on the ground this morning, a bit of sunshine in my creations was a nice thing to have.

Midnight Rose

This lovely lady is Midnight Rose by Elaine Cox.  I had this background paper from Teresa Collins on my  table and the image stamped out sitting in the same area.  I noticed the roses in both and knew it was a perfect match, as long as I could color the image correctly.  The corners are Dies by SCACD Classic Corners.  Very pleased with it and looking forward to sending this card to a friend in need of some 'happy mail'.

Is it birthday season as well?

I have posted this in the past, but was reminded of it today.  :)

As a December baby (today isn't my actual birthday day though) I would like to take a moment and remind others of the dilemma.  Specifically #4.  I Probably should have made that #1.  As people with our birthdays at this time of year, we have enough to 'deal with' without your added griping.  Please stop.  It really gets old hearing how tough it is on YOU to have to buy for us.  So don't.  It won't be the first or last time our birthday was ignored, forgotten or overlooked.  That is pretty standard for us.  It is also preferable to hearing about how inconvenient our day is.

ATTENTION!! ATTENTION!!! ATTENTION!!

Right about now is when all the holiday hustle and bustle really starts. I would like to take just a moment to remind you that some people still have birthdays in the next couple of months. I also want to give you a couple of tips with regard to those birthdays.

1- Do not wrap the present in holiday paper. If you don't have anything else, please use the newspaper.
2- A combined gift is fine, if it was requested. If the recipient is under 12 years old, separate gifts are necessary for them not to feel slighted. The cost does not matter, trust me on this.
3- Telling them to pick one from under the tree to open early, NOT a good idea.
4- They did NOT ask to be born during this time of year, do not complain to them. Complain to the parents and if you ARE the parents, well.....

Keep in mind this is only a mini list and there are other items that may apply. I can, however, guarantee that if you keep these four in mind it will be appreciated!

Bon Jour!

WOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO SCACD is open and has lots and lots and lots of new stuff!!!!  First though, I want to share what I created with Bon Jour Eyes and some of the items you can find at SCACD.

I adore both collections in this release, The Eyes of Adventure and Fables Collection.  There isn't a single image I don't just love!

After I colored up Bon Jour Eyes I paired her with some paper from the MME Lucky in Love paper - I know! - Valentine's Day paper!!!  Make sure you check out all the new papers SCACD has gotten in!

After that I paired the image with the Dies by SCACD Natures Tapestry Fan that matches the fan in the image's hand!  I have been just dieing to do this!  FUN!!!  I felt it needed a bit of 'pop'.  I had been playing with the Art Anthology Gelate and so grabbed it in Splash and covered the die cut for some shimmer.  One of the things that makes the Art Anthology Gelate so great is that it can be dimensional.  However, nothing says it has to be.

Can you see that shimmer?  Now imagine it about 10 times more because that is how it really looks!  Fabulous and all because I was too lazy to get up and grab something else.

Now, don't forget that there are tons of new items available at SCACD.  Be certain you do some holiday shopping for things you really want to open.  Something special under the tree just for YOU!

Toucan

Loved coloring this image, Toucan by ching chou kuik for Sweet Pea Stamps.  I really love the images on this entire sheet.  You can see how I used the butterfly image "here" if you would like.  The colors for the Toucan were so cheerful and worked well with this Basic Grey paper.

Who Me?

This cute image is called Who Me and is part of the Exclusive to SCACD Elisabeth Bell Sampler #8 release.   I have to admit this particular image didn't really call to me when I first saw it.  However, the minute I actually stamped it out and started to look for papers and colors is came to life and I loved creating with it.  I will use it again and again.  I think this is just a super versatile image for both cards for girls, especially pre-teens, and good friends.  It just works for so many thoughts and occasions.

I paired the image with papers from the Lilybee Victoria Park collection.  The vines at the top are the Dies by SCACD Fancy Flower and Key corner.  I created matching black pearls using the Viva Decor Pearl Pen in black.

Arctic Princess

When the latest release at SCACD, Mythical Reflections, came out last week, I couldn't wait to play with this image, Arctic Princess. All of the images in this release are amazing, but this mermaid and her seahorse just called to me!  They were begging to be blinged up!!!
After stamping in Momento Tuxedo Black Ink, I colored up the image.  I used the Copic Glitter pen in gold on the reins.  Viva Decor Glitter liner in hologram on her tail, the ice crystals, and the shell on her crown and on the seahorse.  The seahorse main and fin on her tail are covered in Stickles.  I used Liquid Pearls for the dimension on the pearls at the top of her crown.

One of the most fun parts of creating this card though was making the ocean scene. I used Silk Acrylic Glaze in Oyster and French Lilac.  The Oyster was applied using a small brush and the Crafter's Workshop Flames Stencil.  The French Lilac was applied using a sponge and the Crafter's Workshop Branches Reversed stencil.
The corner die cuts on the top are from the Dies by SCACD collection and are one of two gorgeous dies you receive in the Classic Corners.  Make sure you check out the SCACD Store Blog for other creations from the DT with the Mythical Reflections release and the Elisabeth Bell Sampler #8 release.

In The Wind

I had this lovely image In The Wind by ching-chou kuik for Sweet Pea Stamps in my stack of images that had been stamped but not colored. When I was looking through them, it jumped out at me and I couldn't believe I hadn't done anything with it yet. It is just so pretty and yet simple in its beauty.  The dreamy look on her face is fabulous.
I absolutely had to add Stickles, and a lot of them to this card as well.  She need to shimmer and shine as much as possible.  The Sun and Moon Statement Corner die was required as well.  I have never seen a die and image go together more perfectly than these two.
I know exactly where her new home is going to be.  Who do you know that needs a card sent to them today?  Wouldn't this stunning image make the perfect one to send?  The image is even on sale right now!

NEW RELEASE at SCACD

This is SCACD's last 2 stamp releases of the year! We're bringing you cuteness from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD with 4 new adorable stamps in the Sampler #8 Collection. We also have Susana Loves Stamps new collection- Mythical Reflections which brings you 4 more mythical stamps to help inspire you and help you create!  Be sure to check out all the details on the SCACD store blog and hop along with the SCACD DT as we showcase these amazing new stamps!

As you are hopping, you will have come from Elaine's blog, if not please go to the SCACD store blog to start at the beginning.

The first image I want to share is Dawn's Fairy from Mythical Reflections.  This entire set just takes my breath away!

I used paper from the Bazzill Timeless collection for the background.  The corners are Dies by SCACD Garden Corners.  The vines/leaves on the side of the image are the cut out from the center of the Classic Timepiece

Next up is Golden Girl from the Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler #8 collection.  She is such a cutie.

I wanted the blossoms to be pink because they reminded me of cherry blossoms. I like the matching of the cuffs on the sleeves with the design on the parasol.  Sometimes it really is about the details.  Speaking of which, the elements on the sides are the Dies by SCACD Ornate Hinge.  I am finding this to be such a versatile die.  More than I ever would have imagined.  I just slightly inked the white cardstock with a light blue so they would show against the white background.

For our International Friends, you can purchase these at Quixotic Paperie.

The next stop on the hop is Chris's blog.  I know she has some fabulous creations to share.  Be sure and leave her some love while hopping by.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 31 and Bombshell Hop!!!

CAW! CAW!!  Halloween is HERE, Halloween is HERE!  Can you believe it?  31 days later and Alex and I are both alive, no worse for the wear.  Of course, when you start off where Alex did, there isn't much that can go anyway.
Today is a fabulous day.  Not only is it Halloween and the last of the 31 Days of Halloween Hop.  It is also the Bombshell Stamps monthly hop.  Big day!!! If you are Bombshell Hopping you should have come from Susie's blog.  If not, the beginning is at the Bombshell Blog with a full list.

The Bombshell Hop challenge this month was to go black and white.  Alex took this one seriously 100% and there is no other color (unless you want to get all picky about grey, but take that drama elsewhere please).  The image is Angel with the Halloween Costume digi set.  Doesn't she make and amazing Mrs. Frankenstein?  I think she rocks that hair!

I know you are all very curious as to the finale of my tail adventures.  I think we have possibly saved the best for last.  What do you think?  I am feeling quite 'proud' caw, caw!  I crack myself up!
Although this might be my favorite look for impressing the ladies, not that I ever have to try very hard, I think I will keep some of the other 'looks' in the rotation.

Now, hop along to the rest of the Bombshell - your next stop is Torrey's blog with the full list here or below, as well as the Wicked Bloggers for the final of the 31 Days.  You will me amazing, inspired and awestruck!

Happy Halloween!!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 30

Happy Halloween Eve!!!  CAW!! CAW!!!!  It is almost the day we have been waiting for!~  Hope you are ready.
Alex created a card today using an image by Kraftin' Kimmie.  I think the best part is the dancing skeleton in the corner.  Alex thinks it is the paper.  We hope you have enjoyed all of Alex's creations this month and look forward to seeing you again tomorrow!  I can hardly believe this month is almost finished.  No worries though, Alex and I are 'in negotiations' regarding my future gigs and access to life outside my cage.  Cross your fingers for me!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 29

OY- Alex is getting a bit creative with these color combinations.  I am not certain that we are going to find something acceptable or appropriate in the next 2 days.  Hope we do, but not holding my breath.
This tag is a combination of several different stamps and then Alex drew in the sidewalk to help ground the little monster.  The boy trick-or-treating reminded Alex of Max from Where the Wild Things Are so it was another of the must have stamps.  Me, I am hoping that he has some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in that bag.  It is time for a sugar fix.

Happy Halloween

31 Days of Halloween - Day 28

Today I am going for the multiple oranges.  Feeling very 'fallish' and not wanting the Halloween season to end.  I think that here at Alex's house, we are going to have a Halloween Feast instead of Thanksgiving.  That way Halloween can go on for four more weeks.  What do you think?  Should we start a movement?
There is certainly some pouting similar to this Pumpkin Pixie by Katerina Koukiotiss for Sweet Pea Stamps.  Alex doesn't look this cute when she pouts, but she is pouting all the same.  You don't need to pout though, unless it is over Halloween and as you read, we are working on that.  Sweet Pea Stamps extended their sale through Monday so hurry over and stock up!  The details are on the Sweet Pea Blog and below.

Happy Halloween!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 27

Happy Day 27!!  Where has this month gone?  I really do not want this month to end.  Not at all.  There is a cage awaiting me.  I might have to start a 'Save Edgar' campaign.  Hmmmmmm

Alex has another tag for us today.  This image is by Inkadinkado and one she had her eye on at a local scrapbooking store for several months.  She held off buying it and held off and held off.  She would look at it and pet it and wish for it when it the store, but put it back on the shelf.  A couple of weeks ago she was at the store with a % off coupon and there was only one of these left on the shelf.  Obviously, home with Alex it came.  I believe it was a wise choice, but don't tell her I said that!

I hope you enjoyed both hops yesterday and were inspired by all the talent.  On to more of the Wicked Bloggers today!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 26 & Spook-a-licious Hop

Hey good lookin'!  Whacha got cookin'?!  CAW! CAW!!  So, so, so excited.  I want to welcome the 31 Days of Halloween Horrifying Hoppers AND those following the SCACD Spook-a-licious Hop!  Alex has something silly, fun and a bit twisted, no surprise with that one, to share.

Alex used the image Some Days from the Oddly Sweet Curiosities Set #2.  The background paper is some she grabbed from the MME Lost and Found Halloween collection.  She placed the Crafters Workshop Aspen Trees stencil on and it inked it lightly for the shadows.  The moon is cut from the Dies by SCACD Sun and Moon Corner.  It is then painted with Honey Amber Silks for a beautiful shine.

Today we are having a Spook-a-licious fun blog hop with stamps and dies from SCACD!!! We invite you to hop along with us for some spooky inspiration! To add to the fun there is Blog Candy available on the SCACD store blog --2 FUN prizes-- and also another different Blog Candy at Quixotic Paperie store blog! When you are done hopping along be sure  to visit both the SCACD store blog and Quixotic Paperie store blog for details on how to enter for your chance to WIN! 31 Days of Halloween - Day 25

Good day, good day, good day.  I hope there is lovely weather where you are.  Here, not so much.  My feathers are getting a bit damp and I am not pleased.
It is a good thing that Alex has something cheerful for us today, well relatively cheerful.  Look how happy this Sally is to see those lovely spiders.  What a gal.  I am pretty certain this entire creation was an excuse to use the Jack Skellington ribbon Alex has, but since she pulled it off, who am I to complain?  Once less thing to go flying through the air and watch out for.

Hope your day is warm, dry and full of sunshine!  See you tomorrow and I will have an extra surprise for you then!

Happy Halloween!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 24

Oh my, oh my, oh my!! Caw, caw, caw, caw, caw!  Look at this sexy lady.  Wow.  Alex found this image, Mistress Vampyra by Rick St. Dennis and knew she had to play with it.  This lady is just so hot and mystical.  Woot Woo!!

The black on her dress and shoes were colored using one of the Copic glitter pens in black.  The detail of the sparkle is what let her to the sparkle ribbon.  I hope you click on the picture for the larger version so you can appreciate all the details.  Especially in the image itself.  Alex had no choice but to wear her 'cheaters' when coloring this one, caw, caw! The background paper is from the EP Chillingsworth Manor collection.  Alex loved the way it reminded her of wallpaper in a gothic mansion.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 23

Hello, come in and please, help settle a debate.  With today's project, a topic came up that Alex and I are debating.  It is with regard to vampires and 'breaking the rules'.  Alex is a firm believer that there are certain vampire 'rules' that are not to be broken.  PERIOD.  Some vary by lore, but there are certain consistencies that must be honored (um NO they can't be in the sunlight even if they do sparkle).  I figure since it is all pretend anyway there are really no rules.  What do you think?
Now, on to the project that started it all.  A vampire skull.  How fabulous!!!  I really like the way Alex used the amazing gorgeous and sexy raven sticker.  She then used the Viva Decor glitter liner in Hematite to fill in the eyes and the blood pool is her Viva Decor Pearl pen in Red.  It really is the BEST for blood she has found.

Alex asked that I also leave you with a picture of one of the sexiest vampires ever (trust me, when she asked my eyes rolled back in my head so far they almost popped out the back side!)

31 Days of Halloween - Day 22

Day 22, and I am rocking the matching tail today.  I thought to myself, "Edgar, you are one HOT raven.  You should be working the multiple tail look and going all matchy matchy."  There may be a follow up discussion, but for now, I think I am pretty smart.
This image is one by Teresa Sherman and Alex has always enjoyed it.  The bat hair adornment and skull belly button jewel just make this complete.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 21

Welcome to day 21.  Only 10 more days until 30 Days of Halloween is over and Halloween is actually here!  I am excited, and a bit sad.  I know that Alex will be locking me up in that cage again.  Thank you all for the compliments on my pink yumminess.  I know I am irresistible regardless, but it is nice to know that now I am super irresistible.  I have a few more looks to try before the end so I guess I better get busy!
This lovely tag is Alex's latest offering for 31 Days.  Not only does she love the scene, but the witch flying through the sky is her favorite part.  I am pretty certain this is an image she will ink up more than once.

Happy Halloween!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 20

Welcome to Day 20!!  As requested by some of my adoring fans, I am sporting a pink tail.  There was much arguing discussion here as to what color pink, so the multi look won out.  Pretty hot don't you think?
Unfortunately, we had a few struggles in wardrobe, but I think it has all been resolved for now.
Today I get to share a card Alex made using the image Salting Slugs by Terra Bidlespacher for Sweet Pea Stamps.  Once again, I heard the cackling as Alex grabbed the drippy goo punch to go with slugs.  That woman is a bit.....off.
Speaking of Sweet Pea Stamps, they are having a sale, big one, huge!  Through Monday, October 22 you get a $6 store voucher when you purchase 10 digi stamps.  There is also 30% off all rubber stamps (Alex's favorite) AND grab bags (no additional discount).   You should check it out when you finishing visiting all of the Wicked Bloggers

31 Days of Halloween - Day 19

Hello all you Horrifying Hoppers!  How are you on this fine Friday?  Me, FABULOUS.  I know you are thrilled to hear it and wondering why.  Well, Alex is slowly returning to her crazy normal self so I can go back to doing all the things I do best and not deal with worry about her.
Today Alex has me sharing a tag she put together using a stamp with a very handsome raven on it.  Personally, I am having a case of hat and tail envy, but will get over it, even if it means I need to go shopping.  I would tell you who this stamp is by, but Alex can't remember (big surprise there, not!) and I am not going to fly over and look at the moment.  Perhaps later and then I will edit this if I do.  The background and image are done using distress inks and a sponge or the Tim Holtz water brush.  I know that Alex has fallen in love with this brush and the way she can control the water amounts.  You are just lucky you don't have to hear the actually swooning, I can just tell you about it.

Happy Halloween!
Edgar
