Inky Impressions Challenge #20

The Inky Impressions Challenge this week is a sketch. I have been very tempted to make an easel card and this sketch just lent itself perfectly to doing so. I have not quite figured out how to photograph this card style, but gave it a shot. Now I just have to figure out how to mail this one.

My Attempt at Zindorf style

I greatly admire the artistic talents of Michelle Zindorf. She makes the most amazing things and provides wonderful tutorials on her blog. When I was looking at the Elemental Doodle stamp set Natural Wonders a friend said to me "you should do a Zindorf card with that set". Of course they were absolutely right (as usual!). I have determined that I do not have the supplies or patience of Michelle Zindorf, but I still like the end result! I will make further attempts with this style in the future and hope to improve as I go.

QKD Special Release Blog Hop

These are holiday dragons from our newest artist. Aren't they just the cutest ever? I had a BLAST playing with them.






Next I played with the Thanksgiving Dragons. I stuck with the traditional colors, but the entire time I wanted to color the girl dragon pink and the boy dragon blue. I finally gave in and just went for it. I have to say that I am pretty happy with how both of them came out.

Stamptacular Challenge #29

The challenge this week is to create a spooky card or project. Of course if needs to have stamping on it someplace :). I used my Vampire Boy stamp from Queen Kat Designs. I love how elegantly he is dressed. Just like an old vampire and powerful would be. I think it pairs just perfectly with this Cosmo Cricket paper. Probably still my favorite Cosmo Cricket paper ever! One day I am going to run out and be so sad.

Sketch with Tania

Belles n' Whistles on Monday gave a sketch and color challenge on the blog. Well, maybe more of a sketch and carry over of a color from another blog, the ROP Challenge Blog, but I took them both as one :). I got to play with Tania Baking again, and came up with this fun card. The cupcakes came to me in the middle of the night and it took everything I had not to get up RIGHT THAT MINUTE and do them. Then I had to get through today at work too- ARGH!! Total torture I tell you! Hope you enjoy the card and representation of my favorite cupcakes- chocolate with orange frosting.

There is also a Guest Design Team Member call going on right now at The Roses On Paper Challenge Blog. I am using this card to enter that as well. Wish me luck!

My youngest son is Deaf. I LOOOOOVE everything he has taught me over the years and the amazing people we have met through him.
A few months ago Katie from PMS contacted me and asked if she could name one of the Fairies after my son. After bawling for a bit, I then thought to actually ask my son, LOL, and he thought is was "super cool". For world cardmaking day, I made several and one of them used "Brandt". I am very happy with the result.

VC #19 & DU2DS #22 Challenges

I have combined the sketch challenge from Victoria Case challenge #19 and the punches challenge from DU2DS challenge #22 and the result was this card. I absolutely adore the end result. Thank you for both challenges or this is something I probably never would have come up with!

Holiday card with Sweet Pea Stamps

When I first saw the Holiday Plate I knew that this image was going to be used for at least some of my holiday cards. THEN there came the Holiday Verticals and this card was in my head begging to be made. I am very pleased with it and probably one of the easiest holiday cards I have ever made.

QKD Wednesday blog hop- Altered Frame

Welcome to my stop along the way. If you came here from Nina's blog then you are on the right track. This week we were to "alter a frame"

This frame actually is around a mirror rather than a picture. I couldn't get a decent photo so had to remove the mirror. First I painted the wooden frame with acrylic paint. After it dried I stamped the flowers and words with Staz-On ink. I did cut the words apart so they would be easier to stamp individually. I no longer have any hesitation making my things work for me :). I colored in the flowers with my Prismacolor Markers, painted over them with angel dust Shimmerz and then top stamped again. I have placed magnets on the back of the frame and it is the perfect size for a school locker. All of the stamps, words and flower, are from the Live, Dream, Believe Stamp Set.

New Fall Card & New Stamps

I used the jack o lanterns from Sweet Pea Stamps Halloween sheet to create a fun fall card. I took some very thin strips of cardstock and wrapped it around my embossing stylus to create additional vines for the jack o lanterns.

I am looking forward to making a summer card in the same style with the flip flops from Plate #5. I think that would be super cute too!

Victoria Case & DU2DS-challenges

This card is doing double challenge duty. I used the colors challenge at the Victoria Case challenge blog and combined it with the sketch challenge at DU2DS. The image is a new Victoria Case digi and I think she is just lovely!

I used coffee Shimmerz on white Prima flowers to get the color I needed for the card.

PMS Release Party Challenge

Paper Makeup Stamps always has some really fun challenges with their release party. One this month was of a sketch. This is my take on the sketch. Fairy and sentiment stamp are both from PMS.

Challenge at Incy Wincy Designs

Incy Wincy Designs has some very creative challenges and currently they are running every couple of weeks so it gives a bit more time to get them completed. The challenge right now is "Under The Sea". How more under the sea can one get than a mermaid?
This mermaid is from Sweet Pea Stamps and I just love the way her hair is drawn. It really has that floating in the water look to me.
