This week we were to "alter a frame"

This frame actually is around a mirror rather than a picture. I couldn't get a decent photo so had to remove the mirror. First I painted the wooden frame with acrylic paint. After it dried I stamped the flowers and words with Staz-On ink. I did cut the words apart so they would be easier to stamp individually. I no longer have any hesitation making my things work for me :). I colored in the flowers with my Prismacolor Markers, painted over them with angel dust Shimmerz and then top stamped again. I have placed magnets on the back of the frame and it is the perfect size for a school locker. All of the stamps, words and flower, are from the Live, Dream, Believe Stamp Set.

Tomorrow is the release of TWO new exclusive sets to SCACD by artists Victoria Case and Elisabeth Bell. The blog candy is still open(and showing a couple of sneak peaks!) so make sure you are signed up!

I have found that I really enjoy coloring in black and white. I know that sounds like an oxymoron, however, that is what is I have been doing. I guess truly coloring in shades of grey.

For the color challenge this week I felt it was just perfect to create a Halloween card with Vampire Girl. I am really enjoying this new artist, Che Gilson, at QKD. Just wait until you see the releases from her for October!

New Fall Card & New Stamps

I used the jack o lanterns from Sweet Pea Stamps Halloween sheet to create a fun fall card. I took some very thin strips of cardstock and wrapped it around my embossing stylus to create additional vines for the jack o lanterns.

I am looking forward to making a summer card in the same style with the flip flops from Plate #5. I think that would be super cute too!

There is a NEW set of stamps from The Gumdrop Gang being released and it is on SALE right now! You simply must go see them. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!!!

Victoria Case & DU2DS-challenges

This card is doing double challenge duty. I used the colors challenge at the Victoria Case challenge blog and combined it with the sketch challenge at DU2DS. The image is a new Victoria Case digi and I think she is just lovely!

I used coffee Shimmerz on white Prima flowers to get the color I needed for the card.

PMS Release Party Challenge

Paper Makeup Stamps always has some really fun challenges with their release party. One this month was of a sketch. This is my take on the sketch. Fairy and sentiment stamp are both from PMS.

Challenge at Incy Wincy Designs

Incy Wincy Designs has some very creative challenges and currently they are running every couple of weeks so it gives a bit more time to get them completed. The challenge right now is "Under The Sea". How more under the sea can one get than a mermaid?
This mermaid is from Sweet Pea Stamps and I just love the way her hair is drawn. It really has that floating in the water look to me.

Monday Mojo #102

Mojo Monday #102 and I actually completed the card before the time ran out~! I love the sketches they provide and this one was no exception. This uses Plate #9 from Sweet Pea Stamps.

Sweet Pea Stamps BLOG CANDY!~

I have TWO items to share with you today. It seemed fitting as the stamps at Sweet Pea Stamps are currently on sale BUY ONE GET ONE FREE!! Can you believe it? It is a shopper's DREAM!

There is also some AWESOME BLOG CANDY going on with Sweet Pea Stamps as well.

First is a card created with the new Halloween plate. This little "vampire" just cracks me up, he is so cute! I had to ink him up right away. The blue word paper, he is matted on, was done using the sentiment in the same set. I just stamped it randomly on the paper before gluing on the cut out images.



The second item is an ATC I created using the Bodacious Mermaid. After coloring her in gray tones, I trimmed around the image and glued it to the prepared ATC. I then put some stickles on the background and smeared (yes, that is the technical term) it around with my finger.

Before I show you the new stamp I am showing off, I want to introduce myself as a new member of the WIS for those who don't know me. I am happily married for 14 years, mom of two boys and work in the financial industry. I love, love, love everything mermaid and fairy so this is a PERFECT fit for me. It wasn't until the last few years that I loosened up enough to release my artistic side and I have never had more fun!

So, my highlight for the new release hop is.......Elizabeth's Crow!

FREE Mermaid Stamp

If you have any interest at all in mermaids, this really is the way to win a stamp. The challenges run for a week and have not had many entries, so pretty much if you enter, you canl win.
