Bubble Tales
This is a stamp from Faerie Song Art Stamps designed by Michelle Perkett. Between my love of mermaids and love of books it was a no brainer that I had to have her!!!
I actually created the card using the sketch challenge for the FSAS group on Paper Craft Planet.

Celebrate!!!
It is New Year's Eve Day and I am excited!! I am excited for a brand new year. A fresh start and the ability to be thankful for all my blessings in 2009.
Thank you to all my wonderful friends who have been so supportive of me.
Thank you to my family for being exactly who they are and letting me be me as well and loving me anyway :)

QKD Monday Blog Hop
Welcome to the last Monday Hop of the year!! WOW! Where has the time gone? I hope you began your hop at the QKD Blog. If you didn't, I suggest you return there so you don't miss a thing.
Our challenge this week was to use the spotlight technique. I have to admit, I have seen many things I like that used this project, including some things you will see during the hop. However, I am not particularity impressed with my efforts. I am just going to have to play er, I mean practice some more.
I used the December release The Koi Pond for my card.
This is a FANTASTIC time to pick up any of those items at the store you have had your eye on. The Queen is running an unbelievable sale!!
40% off past kits
40% off QKD stamps
Free stamp with personalized stamp purchase (free stamp will be your name and email addy)
Now- on your way to check out the rest of the creations. Be sure to create your wish list as you go and shop when you finish!

Rock Band -ROCKS!
Rock Band 2 for our Wii was the family Christmas gift. What a BLAST! The entire family has been getting into it and now there is even a "group" created and touring, LOL! Recently they were able to upgrade from a van with a hole in the floorboard to a tour bus and even hired a Merch girl!
Just know that if you are hesitating, for us, it was money well spent :)
Please note- it is not necessary to do a you tube search as no video has been taken at this time.

Moody for Snow
I just love these Moody Girls stamps from Paper Makeup Stamps. They are super fun to play with!!!
Challenges:
Colour Create #43 - Burgundy, Pink & Ivory
Pink Elephant #46 - sketch
The Corrosive #43 - blingy (glimmer mist & pearl)
If The Shoe Fits #15 - favorite coloring medium (markers)
Ingredients:
stamp- Paper Makeup Stamps
paper- Basic Grey, stash
other- Glimmer Mist, Prismascolor markers, Petaloo, Basic Grey bling, EK Success punch
Halloween and Christmas?
Edited to add photo of revised version
I created this card for the Macabre Monday #18 challenge. Normally I wouldn't share a picture using flash, but this way you can see all the bling! The sparkle in the snow and the shimmer of the ghost :). Can you believe this is the ONLY ghost stamp I could find that I own? Color me surprised! I know- the snowman needs arms. Branches don't look right, I need to figure out a way to add bones for arms. If I do I will post a new photo.
Ingredients:
stamps- Sweet Pea Stamps, Inkadinkado, Purple Onion
ink: versafine, colorbox chalk
other: flowersoft, bling shimmerz, ranger glossy accents

Sugar Bowl Challenge #25
I have to admit that I love these Manga Sugar Nellie images. I actual was able to resist ordering from Sugar Nellie until this Manga Fairy. ACK!! They hit two weaknesses in one!! The challenge at the Sugar Bowl right now is a sketch and to use your favorite color. I did a bit of modifying of the sketch -made the circle a rectangle- and used plenty of purple :).

Making a Gift
It is no secret I love Maigan's mermaids. Ever since I first started purchasing the stamps I have had one project in mind that needed to be done. It is now in process and I simply MUST share it with you. I am making a charm bracelet using the stamps and shrinky dink material!!
Here are some stamped on 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch pieces. Don't forget to punch the hole NOW! I then colored them with BIC markers on the opposite side from which I stamped to be certain I would not smear the image.
Here they are ready to go in the oven
And now coming out!
This picture shows the finished ones with another batch stamped and ready to color for size comparison
My current finished girls all lined up and looking pretty!!
This is the gift I am making and it is a gift to me!!! I hope you are inspired to create something for yourself as well!

QKD Monday BLOG Hop
Welcome to the Monday edition of the Queen Kat Designs Stamp Co. Blog Hop. If you came here from the QKD blog you are on the right track. If you got here otherwise, you might want to hop back to there so you don't miss anything!
This week we were given a sketch to work with. I decided to turn it sideways and not use a circle. Rebel that I am, LOL!
The Koi Pond is one of the new release stamps for December and I love it. The scenery is such a compliment to the beauty of this mermaid.
Be certain that you stop by the store and see all of the bundle specials that the Queen has put together. There really are some great deals! While you are there, be certain to get signed up for the new monthly club for The Whimsical Ink Society!

Wishing Star Angel Blog Hop
Michelle Perkett draws some absolutely AMAZING images. She is so kind and has provided this lovely image for us to be able to do a blog hop. I really wanted to show you a fancy card that complimented this stunning image. However, no matter what I added or colored or moved around, it just started to detract from the beauty of the drawing itself. So, I decided to leave it more plain and just enjoy it.
Michelle also asked each of us to list what OUR Christmas wish is. I have spent a lot of time thinking about this. I have two sons. One is a teenager who is dealing with all the typical teenage things I would love to make all better. The other is Deaf and there are those challenges I would want to spare him from. I also have a sister with some pretty severe health issues. Some she has dealt with her entire life and some are new. My wonderful sister-in-law is in a LOT of pain and has many residual problems from a hit and run car accident by a drunk driver a couple of years ago. There are many, many people I love and care for very deeply that I would like to be able to help.
I was thinking over this again this afternoon and trying to pick what my fondest Christmas wish would be. I was driving to pick up my youngest son from school after spending a couple of hours with some friends making cards for Operation Write Home. At that time it hit me. I am so grateful to have these people in my life, regardless of all the challenges. I am able to spend time with them. My Christmas wish would be that everyone could actually be with their family and/or those they love.

I am please to introduce you to Evangeline!
Isn't she just the sultry one? I have always wanted one of those couches. To me they just scream old romance movie. She looks pretty good sitting there.
Also new this month is The Koi Pond. I have been playing with this one a LOT and love it. The tail in the Koi design and the oriental feel of this stamp speak to me. Isn't she just so elegant? I love the waterfall in the background.

Additionally, PaperMakeup Stamps challenge for this week was "holiday". How more holiday can it get than a Christmas gift? Isn't this Moody Girl just perfect for a hot chocolate gift pack? (BTW- the Moody Girls are the special this week, get the skinny here.)

Sugar Bowl Challenge #24 & Caardvarks
I am very excited to participate in the Sugar Bowl challenge. Mostly because it means I have some of the AMAZING Sugar Nellie stamps!!! :)
The moment I saw this particular fairy, I knew I had to have her. The sketch for the challenge this week worked very well with this image.
The challenge for Caarvarks is "Color It". I had a wonderful time coloring this image with my Prismacolor markers and Copics. I think coloring is a BLAST!!!

BLACK FRIDAY
At our house, I sleep. I do NOT go out shopping. There is absolutely no deal that is THAT good as far as I am concerned. That doesn't mean on-line deals are out though ;). Sweet Pea Stamps is having an amazing sale so if you have been on the fence with these, no IS the time. Discounts, free stamps and shipping as well as some new releases. Check it out!
My boys and I are going to attend an event locally called empty bowl. It is a fundraising event for the Food Bank. There are bowls that have been decorated/painted by various artists, school kids, etc. For $10 a person gets bowl, to keep, and it is filled with soup.
I am also going to stop by the Post Office, Library and get a display set up for selling some of my cards. After all that, it is cookie making time! I think it is going to be a fabulous day!

QKD - Monday Blog Hop
Welcome to Queen Kat Designs Stamp Monday Blog Hop! I hope you are excited to see everything today, I am!!!
We were given this picture as inspiration. Mostly, I just wanted to climb in it and curl up with a book :)
I decided to create a card using the new release Just Beyond The Surface.
I love the way there are the bubbles in the water and the starfish on the pillar. This time the kitty is colored a lot like my grey kitty. I don't have the amazing hair and body of the mermaid, but we can pretend ;). Don't forget, not only can you purchase this stamp individually, but is also available as a bundle will all the November mermaid releases (6 of them) for only $33.95!

Operation Write Home
I have the BEST friends! Those that have been reading my BLOG for a while probably are aware of my involvement in a group that creates comfort afghans for family members of those that have lost a member of the armed services. This is a VERY important thing for me.
Along this same line, I have sent cards a couple of different time to members of the military to use to write home. At this time, I have decided to hose a virtual card party to collect additional cards for Operation Write Home. Their current campaign is for Valentine as well as all occasion cards. I am collecting cards until December 31 at which point I will forward them to one of the "mailers" :). I am honored to be doing this!
Last night, I attended a crop at a LSS - Scrapper's and Stamper's Delight. Several of my friends, who were also there, joined me in making cards for this project. There are many others who will be doing so as well, but last night I came home with 37 completed cards! Thank you Sandi and Betty!!!

Happy Birthday To You
This card is created with an image from the Sweet Pea Pals at Sweet Pea Stamps. Sweet Pea Stamps also has a new release of ©ching-chou Fantasy Art Collection Sheet #4. You simply MUST see these!
Right about now is when all the holiday hustle and bustle really starts. I would like to take just a moment to remind you that some people still have birthdays in the next couple of months. I also want to give you a couple of tips with regard to those birthdays.
1- Do not wrap the present in holiday paper. If you don't have anything else, please use the newspaper.
2- A combined gift is fine, if it was requested. If the recipient is under 12 years old, separate gifts are necessary for them not to feel slighted. The cost does not matter, trust me on this.
3- Telling them to pick one from under the tree to open early, NOT a good idea.
4- They did NOT ask to be born during this time of year, do not complain to them. Complain to the parents and if you ARE the parents, well.....
Keep in mind this is only a mini list and there are other items that may apply. I can, however, guarantee that if you keep these four in mind it will be appreciated!

Recently I became acquainted with the artist Michelle Perkett. She has designed stamps for Faerie Song Art Stamps as well as having her own digital ones. I really enjoy her style and her sparkling and upbeat personality are a joy on their own.
She has card challenges on her PCP group each week. I created this one a couple of weeks ago.

In the Quiet Land of Peace
I have created a card with In the Quiet Land of Peace Mermaid Stamp in very different colors from last week. It gives a completely different, yet still peaceful, feel. This stamp is quickly becoming one of my favorites (no, I have not said that about every single one- well, can you blame me?).
While you are at the store purchasing every single mermaid released this month because the price is so fabulous in this collection, check out the amazing variety of kits the Queen puts together. Truly, they ROCK and will unleash your creativity.

Incy Wincy Designs Challenge #17
I had the opportunity to be the guest designer this week for the Incy Wincy Designs challenge. The challenge is to create a Thank You card. I used one of the Incy Wincy digi stamps designed by Inger Harding. The prize this week is not only the opportunity to guest design if you want, but also a digi stamp bundle that has not even been released yet!

Flutter By #82 and WIS Challenge
The Saturday challenge at Whimsical Ink Sorority this week is to use BUTTERFLIES! The challenge at Flutter By Wednesday this week is an open challenge provided it has a butterfly or fairy on it. How perfect is that?
This card uses the mermaid Lorali with her stunning butterfly wings! I colored her with Prismacolor Markers for the skin/hair and Spica pens for everything else.
There is another butterfly mermaid that has been added just this month! It is Monarch Mia - give her a look!

Bloom Where You Are Planted
I have always loved this sentiment. When I learned Elemental Doodles had it in one of their stamp sets I was thrilled. The sentiment and image are both in the set Garden of Friends. The mini set is just perfect for the inside page decoration.
Elemental Doodles has some new holiday sets being released. Be certain to check out the Sneak Preview page! The gingerbread people are TOO cute and the valentine coffee, so sweet! Go see what I am rambling on about, LOL!
There are also so beautiful project examples and fun tutorials on the Elemental Doodles Blog.

Inky Impressions Challenge #20
The Inky Impressions Challenge this week is a sketch. I have been very tempted to make an easel card and this sketch just lent itself perfectly to doing so. I have not quite figured out how to photograph this card style, but gave it a shot. Now I just have to figure out how to mail this one.
