It is time for the BOMBSHELL HOP!

YAY!  It is Bombshell HOP time!!!  This month, in honor of Leap Day we were challenged to create 'Heros' because they 'leap into action '.

I decided to honor the everyday Hero.  I love an organization called Sevenly.  They design a shirt to raise money for a cause and it is available for only 7 days and $7 from each shirt goes to the cause.  They have made me aware if so many amazing organizations doing fabulous things all over the world.  Not only to I get some great shirts, but I get to learn and support some fabulous organizations.  Some of which I support additionally outside of Sevenly now.  I used the Butterfly Queen Bombshell and put her in a T-shirt with the Sevenly 'World Change is How I Roll" saying on it.  It is in the green and goes with my sticker :).  I used the Banner Sayings for the site.  I really, really had a lot of fun creating this and I see my Butterfly Queen Bombshell in all sorts of outfits now I figured this one out !

Your next stop on the hop is Laura's BLOG. She has a wonderful creation.  Be sure you leave her some love while you are there.  Also, be certain to check out the rest of the Heros on the hop!  You will be inspired in many, many ways today!

Silk Dance

I have been having a lot of fun revisiting some of the earlier Sweet Pea Stamps, especially those in the ching chou kuiks Fantasy Art Collection.

This one is called Silk Dance and is part of Plate #54.  As to be expected, every image on the plate is wonderful.  I paired the image with some paper from the Authentique Gathering.  The colors and prints in this pack have been fabulous to work with.  Added a wide ribbon and some soft brads.  I love the water and earth feel of these colors all together.

Edgar and Tinker

Edgar here and I just have to tell you that there has been an "issue" and I am not super pleased.  Take a close look, what is wrong with this picture?

How about now?

Yes, my gorgeous tail is missing.  How, you ask, did THAT happen.  Well, let me tell you about it.  You know that 'new' pet of Alex's.  That S Tinker?  Well just look what she did!  Look!

Does this look like I am having a good time? NO I AM NOT!  So, I tell Alex about it and what does she do?  She says "So why didn't you just fly away?"   WHAT?!?!?  REALLY!?!?!  Thanks a LOT!  Hrmph!

HEY- a little help here people?!?!?!?

Friendship Ties

Friendship Ties is one of the images from the newly released New Adventures of Lili and Poppy drawn by Sylvia Zet exclusively for SCACD.  Such a fun and adorable collection that I couldn't pick a favorite and so glad I have them ALL.

I paired the image with paper from Basic Grey and used a Memory Box die, Madera Corner to created the leaf/vine corner accent.  Add a ribbon and a few flowers and viola!  A cheerful card for Spring.  Now, I just need Spring to arrive!

Just Sayin'

I am officially going on record as saying that one day, one day, we will look back at jeggings and think of them as one of the greatest fashion faux pas EVER!

That is all.

If The Shoe Fits...

Buy it in every color!  Isn't that the saying?  This adorable fairy from the new Fairylicious Collection drawn by Victoria Case exclusively for SCACD

I love the look of pure joy on her face for these shoes!  I used paper from the Basic Grey Little Black Dress collection for the background.  The wings and shoes are both covered with Stickles for the bling factor.

While you are shopping at SCACD, I want to be sure you know about some of the new things in the store.

BLOG Award

WOW- I am so honored.  Thank you so much Lorraine.  Your talent is amazing and I love looking at your creations.  This particular award is one I had not heard of.  I am going to copy and paste the description Lorraine has so I don't mess it up!

These awards give small bloggers with less than 200 followers some well deserved recognition for their creations. Here are the rules:

Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.

  • Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
  • Copy and paste the blog award on your blog.
  • Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve to be noticed.
  • Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.

After much discussion, Edgar and I have finally narrowed it down to five.  In no particular order, they are:

1. Alison - 21st Century Pillow Book - I love the way Alison creates.  She is never afraid to step outside the box and go with what she wants to make.  She also has one of the kindest hearts of anyone I know.  I often refer to her as 'my friend Alison' and I hope she doesn't mind.

2. Sara - Welcome to My Darkside - I have only recently had the opportunity to see Sara's work.  This girl can do some amazing things with glitter!!!  So happy I have had the chance to get to know her through the Internet.

3. Connie - SoDak Stamping - Techniques, techniques, techniques.  I often tell Connie that one day I am going to show up on her doorstep to 'play'.  I hope she knows I am serious.  Connie inspires me to try all sorts of new things, looks and ways of using materials.

4. Crom - Crom's Cubby Hole - This is one of Edgar's favorite blogs.  Crom is SO amazing talented.  The variety of her work and the vision she has and creates with just completely blows us both away.  I am pretty sure that one day Edgar is going to go live at her house instead of with me.

5. Micki - Artful Xpressions - Every time I visit Micki's BLOG my jaw drops and you hear "WOW" come out of my mouth.  I love the way she uses color.  I also really appreciate how she shares her creative process.  Including when things don't go quite the way she meant for them to and how she deals with it.

So- there they are.  Five BLOGS that I can not even believe don't have over 200 followers because I stalk them like crazy!  Check them out, you won't be disappointed and you will probably be inspired!

Blue Eye Fairy

This image is called Blue Eye Fairy and is drawn by ching chou kuik for Sweet Pea Stamps.

As you can see, I gave her brown eyes today (because I am a rebel like that).  The thing I love very most about this image is the eyes.  They are all soft and loving, kind of like a puppy dog.  I paired her up with paper from the Authentique  Gathering collection.  The damask background gives her a regal feel and the velvet ric rak just adds to that.

Blue Eye Fairy can be purchased by herself, or even better, on a full sheet with three of her beautiful friends!  She is on Plate #28.

WINNER, WINNER, Chicken Dinner

I have no idea where that line comes from, but I know that Alex mentions it often to herself.  Likely the crazy lady just made it all up!

Edgar's BLOG CANDY

Edgar here.  Alex is off doing her Spartan race thingy and so I decided to give something away.  I know that will make all of you happy and what is Alex going to do?  She isn't here, CAW, CAW!

YES, you are seeing correctly, it is STAMPS!  Don't worry, I am safe, these are not from Alex's personal collection, although she does have, and often uses, this very set.  This was donated for me to give away by Lynette at Sweet Pea Stamps.   It is the Cupcakes and Presents plate at Sweet Pea Stamps.

I know you want this, reeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllly want it, right?  I can just hear you saying "Edgar, quit teasing and tell me how to win!".  I am going to make it EASY.  Head on over to the overstock SALE page at Sweet Pea Stamps HERE.  Leave a comment telling me which is your favorite image and you are entered to win.  I will pick a winner Monday morning and post it on the BLOG before Alex totally freaks out and locks me up.

Later Lovelies!

Under the Sea

I think Under the Sea is one of the most stunning mermaid images ever.  I completely enjoy every time I color and create with it.  Isn't the hair fabulous?

I paired her up with some Kaisercraft paper, flowers and button thingys (technical term there!).  She is so elegant by herself, it is hard not to have the end result be fabulous.

Under the Sea is drawn by Katerina Koukiotiss for Sweet Pea Stamps.  She can be purchased alone, currently on sale in the overstock section, or on a full sheet with three other stunning images.

Crystal Rose

I hope you saw the fabulous New Releases at SCACD.  One of the two New Releases is the Fairylicious Collection drawn by Victoria Case exclusively for SCACD.  I grabbed Crystal Rose and got all busy creating.

I used a 4x4 canvas as my starting point.  I love creating outside the realm of cards.  It lets me just do so many different things.  The background is created using the Crafters Workshop Templates, specifically Ferns and Punchinella.and sponging inks.

I stamped and colored Crystal Rose then fussy cut it out. I knew that there had to be sparkle on the wings and some extra fabulous bling in her hair made her a real fairy.  Stickles made both of those possible.  I used two coats to get the look in her hair.

Added a couple layers of lace to make a frame and VIOLA!  This is one of my favorite things I have made lately.  Probably because I just grabbed supplies and started to PLAY!

It’s been quite a while since the dynamic duo (Pam and Jorge) of Strange Skin released some new images. But boy, has it been worth the wait! Today they are release 4, yes FOUR new sets that are all going to help you get your freak on. They’ve got something for everyone with this release, even if having a bit of the creep factor isn’t your thing. And trust me when I tell you, no one has images like these!
We have one heck of a hop for you today. There are gals from all different circles, using all different styles. And you are sure to love everything you see. The hop will of course start at Pam’s Blog, so if you haven’t gone there, please head on back to check her her. The complete blog roll is below. And to shop the new images, visit their Etsy shop HERE. And don’t forget!!! Today is the last day that you can get ANY of their original digis for half price! Yup! 50% off of their original sets. The new release items from today are not included in the sale. Here’s what I’ve made.

I looooooooooooove chocolate cake with orange frosting.  The idea of having it be pudding cake too what just heaven for me.  I would love to actually eat this cake. I paired the image with some paper from the Basic Grey Picadilly collection and used Distress Stickles to give the frosting some texture.

The image is from the new set Sweet Treats.  This is only one of four fabulous new sets available!

Here is the entire list of hop participants.  Remember to comment on all of them for a chance to WIN the giveaway!!!
