PEEKER FEVER IS HERE!!

Today is release day for the PEEKERS 2 set drawn by Elisabeth Bell exclusively for SCACD.  These are soooooooooooooooo cute!!! Hopefully came from Susanna's BLOG and now I get to show you Sweet Baby Cheeks Peeker.  Doesn't she have the sweetest look on her face?  I just love it.  I didn't want to do too much in the way of embellishments so it could really focus on the image.
I used the Memory Box Brioche papers.  This is a very versatile collection and if you don't have it yet you should.  While at the store, there are a LOT of new things and a bunch of fabulous paper collections to check out, so be sure to spend some time looking around and shopping.

Have you seen all of the other PEEKER creations by the rest of my DT sisters?  You simply have to go check them ALL out and leave a little love while you are there.  If you are hopping along, your next stop is Dianne's Blog.  If you get lost, a complete list can be found at the store blog Follow Your Heart

The Dutchess

Rebecca Sinz has a very unique style and I looooooooooooooove it!  I was playing with some of her images and created this with The Dutchess.

Tomorrow, my DT sisters from Sweet Pea Stamps will be doing a Blog Hop showcasing the images of Rebecca Sinz.  It starts at the Sweet Pea Stamps store blog and you don't want to miss any of their creativity!

The paper is For the Record by Echo Park.  The Dutchess is also available as part of a full plate of four images including another of my favorites, Gothic Lament.

PEEKER FEVER is here!

I am so excited to share a sneak peek of one of the Peekers 2 drawn by Elisabeth Bell exclusively for SCACD being released July 29.  Two of them you won't even get to see until release day!!  You will LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE them, I promise!!!

Now, here is Bubble Bath Peeker

Isn't she just the cutest?  Love that little rubber ducky by the bath.  I used the Bo Bunny Ad Lib paper because this circle covered paper just made me think of bubbles!
Diamond Glaze on the bubbles and puddles turn them into the perfect look for water.  I love Diamond Glaze and use it on probably at least 25% of the things I make.

Make sure you check out Lori's BLOG for her look at Bubble Bath Peeker.  Keep your eye on the SCACD Store BLOG for the place to look for the PEEKERs all week long and the release on Friday!

Smeared and Smudged Member Hop

Each month the Smeared and Smudged forum does a member hop.  I participate whenever I am able to work it in and was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad to be able to do so for July.  This month the theme was to Alter Something and to follow the S&S rule to stamp something, somewhere, someplace.  I decided to alter a canvas.

I will admit that I have never worked on a canvas before and this was a bit of an experiment when it began.  However, I will also tell you it is not going to be the LAST time I work on a canvas.  This was a complete joy to create.
I began by using a stencil and some Glimmermist in purple and black to create the design on the canvas.  I then stamped the head of Rosie from the Sweet Meets Sassy 2 Collection at SCACD because she made me think most of me, and colored it with markers.  Since purple is my favorite color, you can see the theme I am sure.  The dress was cut free hand, and took several reworks and the paper is Kaisercraft Utopia.  I tore the bottom edge and then stamped the swirls on the dress and flower using some Prima stamps.   The butterfly is a Maya Road chipboard covered in some scrap paper and stamped again with the Prima stamps.  I hand wrote the words and the rubons on the side are an unknown source AKA 'my stash'.

I think I am going to create a series of these canvases that have the words I need to remember.  Then I will periodically change out which on is on display.  I have found that sometimes I don't actually see things that are in front of me all the time, but periodic reminders are powerful.

I hope you take the time to hop around to some of the other member blogs to see what they have created.  This is a circular hop so please visit in any order.  We are from all over the globe so may post at different times.  Please let them all some love :)

Christmas in July!

YES!  Christmas!  I know!  I can not believe it either!  I will admit to thinking Halloween around here, just because I have every intention of participating in the 31 Days of Halloween challenge again, but Christmas had not crossed my mind!!!  Until last week :).
The challenge at Fairy Knoll right  now is Christmas in July.  I will tell you that it was a lot of fun to pull out papers, tools and embellishments I have not used in months and use them.

I decided with the heat outside to cool off mentally and use one of my favorite winter images Snow Friends.  I pulled out the Memory Box paper with poinsettias on it and got to work.

Hope you join us this week and every week!  I would love to see your creations with Fairy Knoll images and there are some FREEBIES available too so check them out!

Thinking of You

The recently releases Sweet Meets Sassy 2 Collection drawn by Victoria Case for SCACD has this great image Thinking of You as part of it.   I create a lot of cards for Operation Write Home (OWH) and this image is  ideal!

I also got to play with some fabulous products when I made this card.  The background paper is from the Bo Bunny Timepiece collection.  The flowers were a lot of fun to make.  Yep- make!  They are punched from some crumpled Tim Holtz Glassine paper available at SCACD.  This stuff is really cool.  I kind of reminds me of dark wax paper, but it is absorbent.  The colored ones were spritzed with 2 different colors of the Smooch Spritz, wine and log cabin.

Now, here is the fun part, see that key?  It was made from the Viva Decor Crystal Gel.  Yep- still LOOOOOOOOOOVE this stuff.

I have a silicon mold that is the key.  My jar of Viva Decor Crystal Gel is actually a gorgeous orange gold color.  However, that color didn't work with this card so what is a girl to do?  PAINT IT of course!

Orange key with brown and burgundy acrylic paint ready to go.

Painted

Added metallic rubon from SCACD after it was dry to 'age' it.

Looks pretty fabulous doesn't it?

In Honor of Army Sgt. Mark Vecchione

This comfort afghan is being sent to the mother of Army Sgt. Mark Vecchione.   It seems such a small thing compared to the loss of their son, but it is all I know to do. I have had the honor of assembling this created with squares from many donors for the Operation Purple Heart program of Heartmade Blessings.

JUST FOR FUN!

Susana was having a "Just Because" moment and decided that 2 amazing Perfume Bottles designed by Victoria Case and 2 Flower Children designed by Elisabeth Bell could not wait to be shown!!!
First, I am WAY excited about Flora by Victoria Case.
I had so much fun with this image!!  I stamped and embossed it in gold on the patterned red paper from EP For the Record. The polka dot paper is from the same pack as well.  After paper piecing the red on, I covered it with Diamond Glaze to look like glass.  The flower and leaves are both by Petaloo and I am loving the red, gold and black all together.
Second is Daisy Doll  designed by Elisabeth Bell exclusively for SCACD.

After stamping and coloring Daisy Doll, I felt she needed just a bit 'more'.  I grabbed the Flower Soft Spring Mix and decorated her up!  Love it so much more.  The papers are from the Memory Box Brioche pack.  I grabbed a couple of white flowers, Bazzill for the larger one and Kaisercraft for the smaller one, and painted them with Smooch to match the papers.  I used Ocean Soul and Frosted Aqua.  The pearls are Bellas Baubles.

Make certain you hit the Store Blog so you can find all the previews by more of the Design Team and learn about all the NEW things in at SCACD!!!

Additionally, there are some fabulous sales going on at SCACD.  You can get the papers I used on SALE!   All NOT on sale already 6x6 Paper pads are 15% off.  AND all 6x6 Paper pads already on sale are ANOTHER 15% off.  I am telling you, you need to RUN over there and shop these sales!

For those of you in the UK- you can find these fabulous new stamps at Quixotic Paperie!

The Lovely Draetha

Draetha may not be every one's style, but she is certainly mine.  I loved this image the moment I set eyes on it.  She is by Joanne Schempp and the rest of the images on Plate 142 are stunning too.

I used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems to create this, but took some liberties and made the center section circular instead of a rectangle.  The pattern paper is Basic Grey Wisteria and the sentiment is from Sweet Pea Stamps as well.

Challenges:
Card Positioning Systems #225 - sketch
