SCACD-PALLOZA - New Release- 2 Artists in 1 Day

It is NEW RELEASE DAY at SCACD and it is beyond amazing this month!  There are not one, but TWO artists with a release.  Both Victoria Case and Elisabeth Bell have a mini-sheet of stamps being released today.

I hope you have arrived via the BLOG HOP showing off all these wonderful images.  If not, I suggest you start at Suzanne's BLOG and work your way through so you don't miss a single thing!!!

Today I am privileged to get to show off Spyder.  He is the adorable boy from the mini sheet by Victoria Case.  I was beyond thrilled when I saw the hop assignments and my name next to this image.  Isn't he the best?

The first thing I did was stamp the image in Momento ink.  I then went looking for the perfect paper.  Like most of you, I have more than a couple of options for this part of the process ;).  I found it in the Kaisercraft  Konstrukt 6x6 pad.  One thing I really love about the Kaisercraft paper pads are the extra elements, borders, tage, etc., in the back.  The gree circle was a tag that I trimmed the edge off.
My next step was to color the image to coordinate with the paper I selected.  Then I grabbed the Viva Decor glitter liner in Peridot and accented the adorable little spider on his hat.

I hope you like Spyder as much as I do.  All of the image from this release of mini-sheets from both artists are wonderful and you will see more of them through out October for certain!!!

Before I send you on your way, I want to remind you that you can purchase both these mini sheets and lots of other FABULOUS things at SCACD.   The Elisabeth Bell mini-sheet is here and the Victoria Case mini-sheet is here.  If you are in the European International shopping area, you can get them from Quixotic Paperie.  These images are exclusive to SCACD so those stores are THE place you can get them!

Now, go check out the rest of the Design Teams' amazing creations with these yummy images.  There are some seriously talented ladies on this team and they constantly blow me away with the creations.  Your next stop is Jaquie!  Be sure and leave her some love while you are there!

Howdy- and a Happy Halloween!

This week we were challenged to do a bit of a mix up with the Elisabeth Bell or Victoria Case images exclusive to SCACD. The challenge was to use an image for a holiday or season not originally intended. The image Howdy lent itself perfectly to this challenge! Living in the West I see a LOT of cowgirls and cowboys at Halloween!

I stamped the image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it in with markers. The paper and label are from the Kaisercraft Le Chateau paper pack.

I used the Viva Decor Pearl pen in black to make the pearls on the card and the tag.

Don't forget the BLOG CANDY and super fabulous FUN coming up at the store later this week!!!!

Blinged Out

Some images just scream for bling and Dianna is one of those.  How could that fabulous gown not be filled with glimmer, shimmer and shine?

When I want a truly rich color with my stickles I do as I did here with Diana and actually color the image first then add the stickles over the top of the color.  I also added glossy accents to her glass to give it some dimension.

This week the challenge at Stamp It Crazy is an Anything Goes challenge so absolutely no excuses for not joining in!!!!

Challenges:
Stamp It Crazy #8 - Anything Goes
Delightful Sketches - Make It Sparkle
Charisma Cardz #38 - Anything Goes
If The Shoe Fits Fashionista Friday #48 - Flowers

The seahorses on the side are just a fun little touch and made with a punch.

Go Green- Reduce, Reuse & Recycle

Meet Ali from Stamp It Crazy. She is the image the DT is using for the challenge this week. What a fun and funky gal!

This week the theme is to Recycle or Go Green. I did some of both in a manner of speaking. I used the color green in my creation, but even more, I decided to re purpose some pages from an old book. I have been informed by my son that reduce/re-purpose is NOT the same as recycling and that I am re-purposing. Just saying....

I tore some pages out of an old Reader's Digest condensed book. You all know the ones I mean. They are the books in the "free" box at the library book sale :). They make great altered books so I always grab a couple. However, in altering a book, there always need to be some pages removed. Ok, torn out! I took some of the torn out pages and punched out some flowers and leaves.

After punching them I spread them out on my craft mat and sprayed with assorted glimmer mists then let dry. The next step was to layer up some of the flower shapes, punch a whole in the center'ish, and attach them all together with a brad. Then I folded up the shapes around the brad one at a time and them loosed it a bit to form the multi-layer flower.

The next step involved gluing down the flower and placing the leaves. I put the single flower in the top left. After all that I then went looking through the book for the words I needed for my sentiment and finally found them. Really, I did not think that the word "thinking" would be such a difficult one to find! Then the words were cut out and attached as well.

I hope you enjoy my card with Ali and the re-purposed book pages. I know I will be doing this again. It was FUN and I really like the end result! Come play with us this week at the Stamp It Crazy Challenge. You can link your entries here and while you are there, but certain to check out the creations by the rest of the DT! They are super talented and I know you will be inspired!

Aurora with Tulips

Aurora is such a wonderful character and I love being able to have stamps with her in all different poses and situations. This image is called Aurora with Tulips and is from the Aurora Collection. There is also an Aurora Collection 2 that is available with even more cute options!

I have really enjoyed making easel cards and decided it was time to do a round one! This uses the same basic design, you just make it round. Easy peasey! I paired the image with the new Prima paper called Fairy Flower. It is soooooooooo yummy!

I punched out leaves and flowers from the same pp and cardstock to decorate with. I created the pearl centers using the Viva Decor pearl pen in cream.

The glitter swirls are done by using the Crafters' Workshop template to draw pencil lines and then the Viva Decor glitter liner in hologram. After the glitter dots dried, I just went in and erased the pencil lines. Now, I know there are some of you that could have done those swirls free hand. For the rest of us, Crafters' Workshop Templates ROCK!

Challenges:
PaperPlay #37- All shapes and sizes

Ingredients:
Stamp- SCACD
Paper - Prima
Ink- Momento, Ranger Distress, & Copic markers
Other- EK Success punches, Viva Decor pearl & glitter liners, Crafter's Workshop templates

Just goes to show that Stamp It Crazy has something for everyone!!!

Sweet Pea Stamps has some absolutely FABULOUS Halloween images available. My favorite sheet, however, is STILL the one with this sweet little bat boy and bats on it. The sentiment here is also from the same sheet. Isn't that just the best font?

Atlantia- elegantly evil

Atlantia is a stunning and fairly mythical feeling image drawn by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD. Nothing evil about her. However, when I decided to work on the challenge for Macabre Monday this week "Elegantly Evil" I decided it would be much more fun to take a very non-evil, but elegant image and evil it up, so to speak.

First thing I did was color my tag with some various dye inks watered down and let it dry. I then stamped Atlantia with Momento Ink on the tag. I colored in her hair and dress lightly with color pencils. I used the red Spica glitter pen for the starfish in her hair. I stamped the webs and spiders around her. To finish it all off I used my Craft-T Metallic rub-ons to give it some darkness and a bit of shimmer- just a touch!

Challenges:
Macabre Monday/HDH055- Elegantly Evil

Spot of Tea

I am really enjoying playing with this release Animapeeps drawn by Elisabeth Bell exclusively for SCACD. Today I selected Spot of Tea. This image makes me think of Squirrel from the Little Grey Rabbit books I read and had read to me as a child.

After stamping the image in Momento Ink I selected which papers I wanted to use. It seemed extremely appropriate to grab Tea At Elsie's by Kaisercraft. I used two of the pp. One with the flowers and the complimentary tiny print peach paper. I really enjoy the Kaisercraft paperpacks. They come with a fabulous assortment of papers and matching/coordinating extras such as precut borders and tags.

I colored the image to match the paper and then cut it out with my Nesties. Then I decided she needed some sparkle on her dress and covered it with the Viva Decor glitter liner. I did a thin coat since I wasn't concerned about the dimensional element of Viva Decor.

I put the card together adding some lace and Kaisercraft pearls for additional interest and texture.

Stop over at SCACD as soon as possible. Susana has just added MORE NEW STUFF for us!!!

I will haunt you....

Ok, not really, but that just seemed the correct title for this post. Stamp It Crazy Challenge #4 is having a creepy fun challenge this week. The DT was sent this super fun digi and told to use black, red, grey, a moon someplace and what we want on our tombstone.

Here is a close up in case you can't read it. There is a story, and I know you want to know what it is. The other day I was watching an episode of Psych and a character says "You better be ready to get killed with me or if I die I am coming back and haunting your kitchen cabinets forever!" I laughed SO hard and had to share.

I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge! Feel free to combine it with other challenges, but with Halloween coming up you really want to win THIS image! Don't forget there a ton of fabulous images and some Halloween theme digi papers for sale so feel free to shop!

The versatility of this set is fabulous. I used Willow Tree and paired it with the sentiment "May the sweet memories you hold in your heart carry you through this difficult time". Fab Friends

Fab Friends is one of the new stamps by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD. I really, REALLY like this release. It is just fun to play with!

One of our challenges this week was to use at least 3 items from SCACD on our creation. Well, that was EASY PEASY because Susana stocks the BEST stuff!! So are you ready for the details?

First I stamped the image Fab Friends with Momento Ink in tuxedo black. Then I colored it with my markers.

Next I grabbed the special Tonertex adhesive pen and colored in the shell of the ladybug where I wanted to put the red glitter. I then set the image aside for the adhesive to dry. Now, I have to admit something here. I forgot I was working on this and it was the next morning before I got back to it. I freaked out and figured that I had to start over with the adhesive pen. I touched it just to check and it still felt sticky, so I decided to give it a go. It worked PERFECTLY! I rubbed in the red glitter and this is the result. - BTW- the glitter is a must have just because the multi-color tower is so pretty to look at!

I grabbed this super yummy velvet paper from SEI and trimmed off a section. I then put it in a Cuttlebug embossing folder in what I would usually consider to be upside down. I wanted the embossing to dip not raise (I am SURE there are correct technical terms, but this is clear to me). I held my breath as I ran it through and when I took it out, squealed with excitement. It worked even BETTER than I had hoped! You WILL be seeing more of this from me!

The cardback is cardstock that on top of I placed my Crafters Workshop Stencil. While on newspaper (hint, hint!!) I sprayed with Smooch Spritz in silver. After drying I put the card together. In the upper right corner I adhered some Bella Baubles in String of Pearls. The charm on the ribbon isn't in the store any longer, but some other FABULOUS ones are.

Now- after all this if you are not just itching to go shopping, I can do nothing more for you :)
